What is the philosophy behind the Recreation Program?
ASE's philosophy is based on 1 player 1 ball technical training. We focus primarily on individual skills and give your player the foundation they need to become the best soccer player they can. What are the costs?
The registration cost is $60 per player which includes Fall '16 Season and Spring '17 Season. Should you chose to register for only one season the registration fee is $40. Parents will need to purchase training equipment i.e. shin guards, cleats, socks, and shorts. Uniform tops will be available for purchase through ASE’s uniform vendor.
When does the program run?
The Fall Season will begin after Labor Day and run 8 weeks and the Spring Season will begin at the end of March and run 6 weeks with no games scheduled during Spring Break. The weekly schedule will include training sessions on Wednesdays and games Saturday mornings.
Where do the training and games take place?
Exact field locations are currently in the works and will not be finalized until August when complete Club field reservations are approved. Training will take place for 45-60 minutes during the week. Games will be played on Saturday mornings. Recreational training will include large group training with a combination of parent coaches and ASE senior coaching staff.
Who will be coaching my child's team?
All training sessions will be designed and led by the ASE Manager of Player Development, Ryan Stout, who has been coaching soccer for over 20 years including U5 recreational players to U18 premier teams - and every age group in-between. He recently completed his Youth Level II training certificate with NSCAA to go along with his USSF “C” license, National Youth Instructors Certificate, and NSCAA National Diploma. Ryan bring excitement to the field and encourages players to try the skills we focus on.
ASE's Manager of Player Development will design and lead all group training sessions. Assistant Coaches (parents and/or other volunteers) will help with small groups of 6-8 players during those sessions. ASE's coaching philosophy will not include set teams at this age. Teams will be formed each week for games and can be made using skill level, aggressiveness, and other criteria as determined by the Manager of Player Development. Children of Assistant Coaches will not always remain with their parents unless the parent specifically requests otherwise. What role do parents play in the program?
ASE is a volunteer organization and your help and word of mouth is what makes us a success. Parents interested in volunteering in any capacity should note that on the registration site. Volunteers will be needed for various activities including Assistant Coaches. Coaches will be given 100% support and training from our Senior Coaching Staff and continuing coaching education will be provided from our Coaching Education Director. Not only will we teach your child to love the game of soccer but we will teach any interested coaches to become the best coach that they can be.
Our program can not be successful without involvement from Parents to help Coach. We hope you will consider being a part of our coaching team. We utilize coaches on a rotating schedule as needed so please don't hesitate to volunteer even if you can't commit to all training sessions.
What is the '10 Enrichment Program?
Our Enrichment Program is designed for those players who want "more" soccer and acts as a bridge to ease the transition into ASE's Development Program and a competitive soccer environment. In addition to the Recreational Program training sessions and games 2010 players are eligible for an additional training sessions each week and a number of Festival Style games throughout the fall and spring seasons.
